Chris began teaching drum lessons at the age of sixteen and has been active teaching beginners to advanced students for over 15 years. Each student follows a curriculum specially designed to meet their needs and musical interests, with emphasis placed upon developing creative musical ability while buidling technique. Chris is well-versed in teaching both rock and jazz drumming, as well as transposing musical influences from African, Carribean, Indian, and Balkan music onto the drum set. His teachers include jazz drummer Matt Wilson and percussion legends Steve Schick and William Winant.

Lessons are available by the half hour or hour for begginner to intermediate students, and in a longer master-class format for advanced drummers. Chris teaches in his studio in La Jolla, as well as students' homes in La Jolla, Scripps Ranch, San Diego, and beyond.
